Intent

I intend to create a world for this piece to exist in. Using the Robert Montgomery poem as the main source of inspiration, I will show one person’s tribute to the people they love and how those people have affected them eternally.

One soloist will experience collecting loved ones and forever feeling their impact.

Original Notes

I began brainstorming for this piece on February 19, 2020. I workshopped it as a solo on Felisya Soqui-Garcia for a few rehearsals before adapting the idea to be a large group work. The important ideas that carried on to this final version of the project are the Robert Montgomery poem, the idea of collecting those you love and them trailing behind you, and the sketch of a lighting idea.

I brainstormed the idea of each time you collect a person you love, it affects your movement physically. The layout and specifics of this idea are detailed here.

Original rehearsal footage can be found in my Drive folder.

Above are notes from various stages in the creation process. They feature brainstorms for my proposal draft, feedback from peers, and others’ interpretations of the choreography.
